The traditional Scottish meaning of ‘coorie’ is of a place of warmth and safety, in more modern times it has become a byword for slowing one's pace and reconnecting with the natural world. 

As we are located in such an incredible place, surrounded by nature, 

Skye Coorie was the perfect name for our cabin.

The award winning Skye Coorie is a cosy, shoreside, self catering cabin, suitable for two people sharing; with fitted kitchen, sitting/dining room, separate bedroom and ensuite. The cabin has everything a couple might need in a home from home, and makes a relaxing and comfortable base whilst exploring all our stunning isle has to offer. 

Skye Coorie is found in the wee township of Breakish, one of the first villages an adventurer finds themselves on the Isle of Skye, just 6 miles after the famous Skye Bridge.  We are located off the main A87, down a single track road, sitting right on the shoreside in this wee collection of homes called Lower Breakish.  Lower Breakish is just 3 miles from Broadford, with its supermarket, fuel station, small selection of boutique shops, restaurants, pubs, bus links and the hospital. 

The local area is outstanding in its natural beauty, as we are right on the shore the tidal exposed mudflats bring a dynamic wealth of bird and mammal wildlife to you from the comfort of your seat. Directly opposite the cabin is Ardnish Point, excellent for geology and fossils, not to mention the obvious wildlife.   

The cabin is not far from the mighty Beinn na Caillich and Blaven mountains, or a short drive to the heart of the Cuillin mountain range and other excellent hillwalking adventures.  We are only 23 miles from Portree and all it has to offer, with the ferry ports of Armadale and Uig also only a drive away.  

Our location is ideal for water activities, hill and forest walking, bird and nature watching, or as a base from which to explore the rest of Skye and Lochalsh.  Bring your bikes, kayaks, paddleboards and walking shoes, we are happy for them to be stored here when your aren't using them, and you can launch your water craft straight from the garden gate at high tide.

Skye Coorie Cabin is family owned and run with Lori, Peter and their daughter and pets live on site; Lori will be your main point of contact, so unless I'm on the hour long school run or helping my parents who live over the road, I'm on hand to help with anything you need.  

Skye Coorie is non smoking, suitable for two people sharing - unfortunately we don't accept children, pets or parties and we are not best suited for people with limited mobility.
